Notes:Matilda is the widow of Thomas Walters. They were married in 1823. (Where? Not in Floyd County that I can find.) He is listed as head of household in both the 1830 and 1840 Morgan County censuses. Robert Wilson, HH#0938, just next door, is Matilda's brother. It is conjectured that Rebecca Walters, Robert's wife, is Thomas Walters' sister, but no one has been able to prove it so far. Information provided by Barb Walters Thanks Barb!

After much checking and rechecking of sources I have uncovered an apparent mistake made by the census enumerator, Sam Turner, regarding the 7th individual in this table. He listed Oliver Walters, an 11 year old male. It would appear that, in actuality, we have Olivia Walters instead, an 11 year old female. No Oliver Walters (of the proper age) appears in any later census whereas an Olivia Walters does appear in a couple of marriage records and census records of Magoffin County. Therefore I've changed the spelling of the name and the sex of this individual to conform with the results of quite a lot of research by quite a number of people.
